Britain during the Blitz

Beginning in September 1940, the German Air Force carried out massed bombing raids on industrial targets, towns and cities across the UK. This offensive continued until May 1941, in a period known as 'the Blitz'. The focus for air attack was London, however cities from Southampton to Coventry, Cardiff and Glasgow were also heavily bombed.

This gallery features a selection of NCAP aerial photographs of locations bombed by German aircraft during the Blitz.
