Oblique aerial photographs and ground photographs of locations in Egypt, Tunisia and Italy.
Robert Potts began his career in photography as the official camp photographer at Butlin's Holiday Camp in Skegness. During the Second World War, he served as a photographer in the Royal Air Force, serving initially in the UK and then in North Africa with No.600 Squadron from 7 December 1942. On 9 May 1943 he was assigned to the North Africa Photo Reconnaissance Wing. On 14 January 1944 he joined No.682 Squadron, Royal Air Force, and on 22 September 1944 he was transferred to 336 Photo Reconnaissance Wing.
During his service he held the rank of Leading Aircraftsman and was part of a photographic team responsible for developing and printing photographs from photo reconnaissance missions.
