Description: Oblique aerial photograph taken facing North.
This area of Juno Beach was assaulted by the Canadian Winnipeg Rifles, who had to storm the German strongpoint WN41, visible in the centre of the frame. Eager to avenge their comrades who fell at Dieppe in 1942, the Winnipeg Rifles fought through to capture the port of Courseulles-sur-Mer.
