Changes to search room services

From Monday 12 April 2010 there will be important changes and developments to our search room services:

  • Revised opening times
  • Induction sessions for new users
  • Group visit opportunities
  • Additional search room workstations
  • Free WiFi access for search room users

Revised opening times

Monday - Closed except for induction sessions / group visits

Tuesday - 9.30am to 5pm

Wednesday - 9.30am to 5pm

Thursday - 9.30am to 6pm

Friday - 9.30am - 5pm

We remain closed at weekends and on public / local holidays. Find out more about public holidays in Scotland.


Induction sessions

We are committed to improving access to our imagery online and in our search room. From 12 April 2010 new users are encouraged to attend an induction session, on a Monday afternoon at 3pm, that will provide an opportunity to learn more about:

  • The National Collection of Aerial Photography
  • User registration
  • Aerial imagery research and interpretation
  • Accessing digitised aerial imagery online
  • Using the search room finding aids
  • Ordering aerial imagery in the search room
  • Digitisation services

To attend a Monday induction session at 3pm, that will last around one hour, please submit your request using our Contact Form.


 

Group visits

From Monday 12 April 2010 it will be possible to arrange a group visit, on a Monday morning or early afternoon, for a maximum of 15 people. On a group visit we can provide an introduction to The National Collection of Aerial Photography, our services, and specific catalogued parts of the Collection on request.
